High voltage transformer refers to a transformer that converts low voltage into high voltage through the principle of electromagnetic induction, consisting of an iron core and primary winding.

Performance requirements for high-voltage transformers

Temperature rise: High voltage transformers operate continuously at ambient temperatures below 40 ℃ and rated loads. The winding temperature rise measured by the resistance method shall not exceed 65 ℃. Under these conditions, the temperature rise of the upper insulation oil shall be measured by a thermometer and shall not exceed 60 ℃. The highest temperature rise of the winding shall not exceed 80 ℃.

Rated capacity: When the high-voltage transformer operates at full load at the lowest tap position of full capacity, the temperature rise of each winding shall not exceed the provisions of the manual.

Impedance: When the high-voltage transformer is tapped at the rated voltage and the winding temperature is converted to 75, the impedance based on the cold rated capacity should comply with the provisions of Clause 2.1.4.

Short circuit standard: The short-circuit resistance of high-voltage transformers should comply with the provisions of ANS C57.12.

Overload standard: Transformers must be able to withstand loads exceeding the nameplate rating.

Radio interference voltage standard: The high-frequency voltage generated by transformers shall not exceed the provisions of NEMA TR1.

Voltage regulation methods for high-voltage transformers

1. Voltage regulation at the medium voltage line end.

2. When voltage regulation and insulation at the line end cannot solve the problem, and it is difficult to develop voltage regulation, neutral point voltage regulation is adopted. During the voltage regulation process, if the voltage at the medium voltage end changes, the low-voltage side will also fluctuate with changes in magnetic flux. Compensation windings are set to solve the low-voltage voltage fluctuation during the voltage regulation process.

3. No load voltage regulation method, and to simplify the structure of the main transformer, the voltage regulation winding is installed in an independent box to isolate from the main transformer box, and electrically connected to the side through a sleeve.

The purpose of high-voltage transformers

High voltage transformers are commonly used electronic devices in electronic products, which are electromagnetic induction devices used to convert low-frequency low voltage into low-frequency high voltage. When the primary winding passes through alternating current, the transformer generates an alternating magnetic field. Through the induction effect of the alternating magnetic field, the secondary winding also correspondingly generates an alternating magnetic field and generates an alternating electromotive force. The voltage of the secondary winding is related to the ratio of turns of the secondary winding, that is, the voltage is proportional to the number of turns. The main function of the high voltage is to convert the low voltage into the required high voltage, which is particularly important for insulation in the production process, The unqualified product quality of many manufacturers is mainly reflected in the insulation treatment, and good insulation is the top priority in the production of high-voltage transformers.
